Ten years since her last solo performance, The Rite of Spring, the choreographer once again feels impelled towards a new impact with herself. With a defined title, O Salvado (all that she could save) is, for now, an idea, an intention to be explored. Her search does not involve a research of language, but a continuation of a shared struggle. Clinging on to life like in a shipwreck, what can one save from this catastrophe? What objects, what things have been rescued from danger? What can a life spanning seven decades still preserve? What does it come attached to that can still be released and turned into matter? What has yet to die inside it? What did it free itself of? Her shoe collection… Her dresses… Her sense of humour… What is this present-day body of hers? What stories can it still tell? All suspended all up in the air… All suspended all in the memory… In the cloud… We hear the opening to one of her favourite songs. Can we hear her voice? All these questions require many others, and especially a reflection, an inner research. Violence and boredom in this artist’s imagination, which take on proportions that are well beyond matter, have never left her susceptible to having a relationship with the void.
